Most recently, we’ve begun the process of transitioning our cast products to Jesmonite. Jesmonite is a composite material with an appearance much like plaster, which is water-based and non-solvent.

Prototyping many of our product concepts in-house, we’ve switched to using recycled corn-starch for all of our 3D-printing, which can then be recycled again once we no longer need them.

Porta Romana x Tala Bulbs
We have created our own lightbulbs in partnership with Tala, the makers of superior and sustainable LED bulbs, which have a lifespan of around 30,000 hours. That means that if used for 8 hours a day, they will last around 10 years.
Tala bulbs are supplied and included in the cost of all our products. They have a high Colour Rendering Index (CRI) of 95, matching the quality of lighting used in galleries. What’s more, we’ve created our own colour temperature to perfectly complement our pieces.
