Terms and Conditions
Orders, Payment and Pricing
All orders should be placed and paid for through our website by ApplePay, AndroidPay, credit or debit card. The total cost of your order is the price of the products plus delivery. There is nominimum order quantity required.
Any order amendments must be requested by emailing sales@portaromana.com.
All credit/debit cardholders are subject to validation checks and authorisation by the card issuer. Payments on our website are securely processed using advanced security protected software. Porta Romana will not keep your payment details, they will be held in an encrypted format by Shopify, a secure and widely recognised global payment provider.
Prices on our website are inclusive of VAT at the prevailing rate and are correct at the time of entering the information onto the system. Prices are for products wired for use in the UK market only. Prices quoted may be subject to change without prior notice at the sole discretion of Porta Romana Limited. Porta Romana Limited reserves the right to discontinue items without notice.
Delivery of Goods
Orders will be despatched based on our standard lead times to UK addresses only. Lead times quoted may be subject to change without prior notice at the sole discretion of Porta Romana Limited.
We will endeavour to ensure that our courier provider delivers goods according to schedule, but we cannot be held liable for any inconvenience or cost resulting from the late delivery of goods.
Cancellations and Returns
Orders placed on our website may be cancelled within 24 hours of the order being placed. A full refund to the original payment source will be made but may take up to 5 days to appear in your account.
We really hope that you will be delighted with your purchase, however you have the right to cancel within 14 days from the date of delivery. We will arrange for collection of the product through our courier network, unless the item is faulty or not what you ordered, returns will be subject to a charge of £50.00 per lighting products and £100.00 ceiling lights, furniture and mirrors (inclusive of VAT). All products must be returned in their original box and packaging in the condition they arrived in. The Customer shall be responsible for any damage caused in transit during return and should ensure adequate insurance.
The above right to cancel does not apply to any goods made to customer’s specifications or bespoke items.
Returns must be completed within 28 days from receipt of goods and any returns requested outside of this period will not be accepted. Refunds will be made for the total original purchase price including any delivery charge (if the item is faulty or not what you ordered) for our item(s) to you.
Damages
In the unlikely event that your product has been damaged in transit, please notify us within 48 hours via the Contact Us page on the website and include supporting photos. We will get back to you as soon as possible to resolve the problem.
Retention of Title
Title to the goods (that we sell to you) shall remain vested in Porta Romana and shall not pass to you (“the buyer”) until the purchase price for the goods has been paid in full and received by us. Until title to the Goods passes, we (Porta Romana) shall have authority to retake, sell or otherwise deal with and/or dispose of all or any part of the goods.
Irrespective of whether title to the Goods remains vested in Porta Romana, risk in the Goods shall pass to you (the Buyer) upon delivery.
Warranty
Porta Romana Limited offers a 2-year warranty on all products except lampshades (where a 1-year warranty applies) against manufacturing defects.
All Porta Romana pieces are handmade, so we are unable to guarantee exact matching pairs, however, will do our very best to select pieces that are as similar as possible.
This warranty excludes damage resulting from accident, alteration, misuse, tampering, negligence, abuse, or ordinary wear and tear. Porta Romana Limited is not responsible for damages relating to natural fading or discolouration, oxidation, humidity, prolonged exposure to sunlight or salt air or other unsuitable environmental conditions. Wood, stone, glass, iron, brass, and other decorative materials vary in tone, colour, character and texture: variations are inherent in such materials and finishes and should be expected.
Where a Wall Light is specified as being suitable for Bathroom use, the suitability is warranted only with regard to the regulatory approval for the wiring system which has been approved with IP44, IP65, UL and/or CUL ratings for damp locations. The Wall Light is not warranted for bathroom use in terms of construction material, finish or lampshade material and the suitability on these grounds must be judged by the Interior Designer or the end user based on their understanding of the conditions of the space for which the Wall Light is intended.
Bathroom Wall Light and Ceiling Light Warranty
Where a light is specified as being suitable for Bathroom use, the suitability is warranted only with regard to the regulatory approval for the wiring system which has been approved with IP44, IP65, UL and/or CUL ratings for damp locations. The light is not warranted for bathroom use in terms of construction material, finish or lampshade material and the suitability on these grounds must be judged by the Interior Designer or the end user based on their understanding of the conditions of the space for which the light is intended.
General

Design Policy and Copyright
All products are exclusive designs belonging to Porta Romana Limited. Please do not submit design sheets featuring Porta Romana products to other manufacturing companies. Any manufacturer found to be re-producing a Porta Romana design will be breaching copyright or UK & EU Design Right laws.
